What kind of beer can I brew?
Burnaby Brewing has over fifty different recipes for you to choose from including Canadian and American Pilsners and Lagers, English Ales, Dutch and German Pilsners, and Australian Lager. You can even write you own recipe.
How much does it cost?
All the recipes will make about 48 – 50 litres of beer, which is about 12 dozen beer bottles. Our current price list can be viewed here.
What about bottles?
You can use your own bottles (twist off or regular top) or we sell re-usable plastic bottles for $30.00 or $40.00 per batch. We provide the equipment to clean, bottle, and cap your beer.
How do I clean my bottles?
The first thing you should do is to rinse your bottles at home after each use (this will prevent mold growth). If bottles are clean they are easy to sterilize, but if they are dirty, you’ll be spending some time with a stiff brush and lots of hot water.
What if I can’t drink a whole batch?
Most people split a batch with a friend or two. It makes it more fun and less work to brew and bottle. Ask us how to share a batch of beer with other consumers.
I’m not much of a cook. How hard is it to brew?
No problem! Our recipes are pretty easy to follow and we will coach you through your first batches.
How long does it take?
It takes about an hour and a half to brew and about one hour to bottle, which is done two or three weeks after you brew.
When can I drink it?
You can drink your beer as soon as you bottle it, but it seems to taste better a few days later.
How long will my beer last?
There are no additives or preservatives in the beer so its shelf life depends upon how it is stored. It should be kept in a cool dark place. If it is kept in a refrigerator it will last up to six months.
Are there any guarantees?
Our products are very good so if you are not happy, give it back to us and we will give you another brew or your money back.
